Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the AMM-24 and the MM-24?

The AMM-24 loads and marks parts automatically. The MM-24 is loaded by an operator. Both mark the ends of cylindrical parts like bolts, studs, and shafts using the same marking method. The choice comes down to volume. If someone is spending most of a shift feeding a marking machine by hand, the AMM-24 puts that person somewhere more useful.

Can the AMM-24 run unattended?

It runs automatically once it is loaded and set up, so nobody is handling individual parts. How long it runs between refills depends on part size and hopper capacity. [CONFIRM: hopper capacity and typical run time between refills.] Tell us your part and your run lengths and we will tell you what to expect.

Does the AMM-24 need a parts feeder?

The AMM-24 is designed to run with our FeedMate cylindrical parts feeder, which orients parts and delivers them into the machine. If you already have feeding equipment on the floor, send us the details and we will look at whether we can integrate with it.

What parts can the AMM-24 mark?

Cylindrical parts: bolts, studs, shafts, rods, and similar round stock. It marks the end of the part. [CONFIRM: standard part diameter and length range.] Every machine is built to order, so the range gets set around the parts you actually run.

How long does it take to train an operator?

Most operators are running an MSI machine within an hour. There is no programming to learn. After delivery you get phone support from a real person in Beaumont, and most questions get handled on the first call.

Can you customize the AMM-24 for our parts?

Yes. Every MSI machine is made to order. If your parts are an unusual size, your floor layout needs a different footprint, or you want the machine tied into equipment you already run, send us a sample part or a drawing and we will quote it.
